Dr. Tarik Lalwani

Dr. Tarik Lalwani is a board certified Nephrologist specializing in kidney disease and hypertension. He is a highly-skilled physician with more than 10 years of experience treating all aspects of kidney disease.Dr. Lalwani obtained his undergraduate degree in math and chemistry at New York University and worked in medicinal drug development for three years. He completed his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA, and internal medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York, NY. He then went back to Philadelphia to obtain a fellowship in Nephrology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in the Renal-Electrolyte and Hypertension Division before moving to the Atlanta metro area to begin his professional career. After partnership and practice in northeast metro Atlanta, he moved to Peachtree Nephrology where he is currently in his 12th year of medical Nephrology practice.Dr. Lalwani‘s areas of special interest include kidney stones, complex hypertension, and heart failure. He was also the principal investigator on six clinical trials involving anemia and kidney disease and continues to pursue these interests. He is on the Heart Failure Committee at Gwinnett Medical Center and is actively on staff at Emory, St. Joseph’s, and Northside Hospitals in Atlanta, GA. Additionally, he was recently nominated as a top doctor in Atlanta Magazine. Dr. Lalwani speaks English, Spanish, and Hindi. His interests include music, sports, travel, and food, and he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
